Warm beyond its thickness. Fits nicely with room for a light layer or down sweater underneath. The inner elbow mesh tends to be a little cool on windy days, so I layer over with a windbreaker or under with a more wind proof layer. Great ROM. No pulling across chest or shoulders. Sleeves are lengthy (I have ape arms) and still cover the wrist when arm is fully extended. Thumb slashes well placed and the little finger windbreakers get used on dog walks a lot. Waist pockets are roomy and easily accessed. Chest pockets have more discreet zipper pulls to keep the lines of the jacket clean. I have to take off my gloves to access. But perfect for phone in the urban setting or a power bar and maps when trekking. I’ve been out in a moderate rain and remained warm and dry. The hood fits well over my large bonce and easily takes a heavy toque underneath. This is now a go to jacket when layering for Alberta -30C winters.
The expander is a great piece kit to have when you need a little bit of extra room up top for us side sleepers.
I do wish lightweight plastic YKK zippers were used for adding the expander to the puffle. The snaps are a bit weak for a side sleeper and unsnaps pretty easily.
Overall very pleased, including the one small negative. It works well.
I recently used my 20 degree 5 in 1 blanket on a hunting trip. We had night time temps varying from 25 to 40 degrees. Below 35 degrees, pending your level of self warmth, you may need to sleep in a medium, or heavy merino base layer. I stayed plenty warm with a light base layer bottom and med weight base layer top.
No actual pic of my puffle in the wild, but here is our camp.
The finish of the overall product is great..
I often get cold with tent camping which makes it very difficult to sleep. This product keeps my feet or my chest warm which helps me get to sleep quickly. If I need to exit my tent in the middle of the night- I can quickly get warm again when I get back into my sleeping bag. Love this product!
Great taste. Plenty of food. Stay with the 1 cup they suggest but boil a little extra water. I had to add an ounce to an ounce and a half street it was cooked so it wasn't so sticky.
It’s already cold in Kentucky. This is absolutely great!! I can’t wait to take this on an adventure with me. I have only tried it at home but I love it. It will be much better than trying to use a water bottle to stay warm.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my puffle... bought my first one, and tried it out on my bed, and it never left. I love the cozy toe box and the fact it's mine. When my partner pulls on the share covers a little too much, I still have my puffle :-) Now I have one for the car, that I use as an under quilt for my hammock too. And, one more that I use IN my hammock. This expander makes it possible to keep my puffle all snug around me camping in colder temps.
My husband loves this. Perfect for winter camping to help him stay warm through the night.
My wife and I love this breakfast. We split a pouch between us. It's delicious and filling. Highly recommend. This is our second time buying this product we enjoyed it so much the first time.
As fall rolls around, things can get pretty chilly where we live (upper midwest). This gear makes a great stuff sack for blankets. After we get covered up in the blanket, we place the hot pocket under it and stay pretty toasty. I thought the price was a bit steep, but it's quickly proven its utility. So much that it's one of the first things I look for when I'm packing a bag for an outdoor event in the fall/winter. We've had outdoor electric blanket in the past, but they always seemed not worth the bother (for one reason or another). The multi use versatility of this gear tips the scales for me. An added bonus is that we never loose the stuff sack for the blanket anymore and usually have enough charge left in the battery to give our phone a quick charge, if needed.
Wore the jacket recently on a hike, and got cold enough to turn on the heater on the decent! I really appreciated how it isn't too bulky and allows you to move! My only complaint is that the jacket didn't come with any operating instructions
Our camping trips usually consist of me getting 3 or 4 broken hours of sleep and waking up with hurting hips and back. I feel SO supported while laying on this mat. This mat also packs down so small and is extremely light! All around a great purchase!
I finally had the chance to really use my puffle 55s on a 4 day backpacking adventure and they were everything I wanted and more! They packed down easily into their sacks, took up minimal room and were lightweight. We hammock camp so we primarily used ours as overquilts. Day temps in the 80s, night temps in the low 50s. The closing toe box was ideal at night when it was chilly. I'm a cold sleeper but the puffle kept me warm and comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. We used them as camp blankets in the mornings and later on, once in our campervan, we snapped them together to use as top bedding and they kept us warm and toasty! (Nights in 30s) Highly recommend and can't wait to use them again.
Great product and super comfy. Just wish it was a little wider.
I like the product very much; warms up well and is nice and compact. I have the large size and it’s very roomy. My cat also loves it when we car camp. I do wish the battery pack was a little more lightweight or at least less pointy but it’s easy to work around!
