The Season I Tried to Destroy It
I spent the past 5 months basically living in the DelSur prototype.
I ran in it for a solid 3 months.
I put it on every time I headed out the door
(and inside the house too...
you know, saving on the gas bill🔥…)
My job was to test it to death and what I discovered was three main things:
1.) I did not need or use any of my other hoodies, jackets, pullovers, fleeces, or long sleeve runners anymore as this became my everyday, everything, everywhere wear.
2.) This thing performs in the chilly weather like a beast,
And I can say that for a fact after running around 300 miles this winter in temps ranging from 34-56°F
3.) It didn’t die. The quality is superb. (Usually I kill things pretty quick 🤣)
Jazzed after my first cold run in the DelSur pullover prototype I (38°F)
After washing, tossing, smashing, and rigorous wear and tear, I compiled a list of the DelSur features I found the most useful during each of my chilly outdoor activities.
🧟♂️ It happens when there’s nowhere for your hot steamy sweat to go but to your lowerback (and between your pectorals, and armpits… really everything just gets swapy.)
🌬 We combat swampy back with intelligently placed Flow Vents. These vents are made from a special fabric that opens up to release heat when you’re active, and restricts to retain warmth when you’re more stationary.
🆒 It feels breezy and AMAZING, yet insulated just enough for the warmth I need. I’ve switched back to other runners a few times and now NOT having the Flow Vents is SO noticeable.
How did I ever run without them?
👏 I can’t even count on 10 bloody cracked fingers how many times I've been midway through a cold, windy run and wished I had remembered my gloves.
🧤 We built hidden, weather resistant, windbreaking gloves inside the sleeve that you can pull out and slip on when needed. You wouldn’t even know they were there, except that I just told you.
The gloves make a great combo with the thumb holes too!
👍 They’re connected. So you can literally never forget them.
☃️ Bulky, ill fitting layers do not look flattering on anyone and they restrict your ability to move freely.
✂️ We focused so much on the shape and fit of the DelSur. Revision after revision we would not stop until we landed on a cut that contours your shape and creates a perfect athletic fit.
Female:
🧥 Tapered lower back that flexes at hips
🧥 Seam curves to enhance your natural feminine curve
🧥 Contoured shoulders that never look bulky.
Male:
🧥 Increased insulated shoulder space that fits nicely and fills out your upper body
🧥 Broad torso with insulated chest for warmth and athletic movability
Both:
🧥 Lengthened arms so they are never too short or pull on your shoulders.
🧥 Not too short or too long at the bottom, ends nicely mid booty.
👌 I have yet to see anyone of any shape look anything but fit, fast, and strong in this thing!
We all like to look good and feel good in the things we wear. Period.
🌧️ When it rains I must run in a stiff waterproof jacket that creates an awful sloppy sauna inside, or I get completely soaked.
🛡️ We made the DelSur extremely wind and water resistant with a strong DWR coating. You can just shake the rain off without it sinking in, yet it is not that plasticy non-breathable waterproof fabric feel.
Granted the DelSur is not fully waterproof so it may not completely resist a monsoon.
👌 When I head out for a run and it starts to snow or sprinkle, I stay dry. I have run in serious downpours in my DelSur, many times, and though I had to hang my jacket to dry afterwards I was actually really pleased with how dry my underclothes stayed.
📱 One of the most obnoxious things is when my phone bounces all around, hits against my legs, and causes my jacket to ride up.
🔒 We added two secure vertical chest pockets for your phone that will hold it in place while you’re active.
Besides that, you can never have too many convenience storage pockets.
So we put them everywhere.
👍 I use the 2 vertical chest pockets for important things like cell phone, credit card, or cash, but I also unzip them for venting when needed.
All of the pockets have the ability to zip closed so you never lose anything.
There’s an inside pocket, kangaroo pouch pocket, and it packs down into its own pocket! 🧙🏻♂️ Magical.
🥶 Sure, I can run in a lot of my longsleeves and pullovers for warmth, but they aren’t quite warm enough for regular everyday outside wear.
♨ Have you heard of the incredible super material graphene? Basically, it transfers and enhances heat wherever it is present, this is why we have infused it into our properly placed insulation all throughout the jacket and pullover.
🛒 Because I can put on my DelSur for everything. When I’m active outside, grocery shopping, walking to lunch, or sitting at my desk. It’s that simple.
🤢 When you sweat stinky bacteria into your clothing there’s no avoiding it, it reproduces there and just REEKS!
Solution: Bamboo Infused Insulation
🎋 Bamboo is a natural antimicrobial so it fights bacteria as soon and it settles in.
Why I love this:
♻ It takes a lot to make the DelSur stink! But equally amazing for me is how often over 300 miles of sweat that I’ve washed it yet it still looks new and performs as flawlessly as ever.
So that’s my 300 mile, wear and tear experience!
I think it's clear I can say, hands down, I am beyond impressed about how incredible the final DelSur has turned out!
