Mother of Wildlings

We all have one, maybe she took you to the wild or maybe she tried to get the wild out of you - I'm sure we can all agree Mom deserves a special thanks this every week.

We give it everything we've got every day.

Some days are better than others, but we keep going.

We want the best for our little herd.

To show them the world and all its mystery.

We give and give, never to receive.

We work overtime, never to be paid.

We clean out scraped knees, wipe butts, and make samiches.

We plan fun adventures and experience all of the 'firsts'.

We provide, we care, we love.

We never give up.

Way to go Mom, you're a rockstar and deep down everyone knows it.

Below is an excerpt from one of our recent adventures.

Today’s adventure!

We drove away from the beach and into the mountains today. We found a waterfall in the middle of the jungle, and let me tell you this little lagoon was COLD!

(It really was cold.... I didn’t even get all the way in.. .. and I am aware how that sounds to the rest of you in the continental states... I’m sorry for daring to call call anything that is not FROZEN SOLID cold. )

Disclaimer : Tripp WANTED to climb and WANTED to slip in. He told me exactly that when he started climbing. “I want to try and slide in” I said it was slippery you might fall. He said “I know. That’s the point.” Haha.

Then he slipped before he planned to and it scared him!

This was a diving zone. I knew it was deep enough that he’d be fine if he fell in.

I encourage bravery and trying new things when I know the environment is safe enough.

He can learn so many solid life skills through TRYING something even if he feels a little scared. Even if he falls.

I feel like I have to say that.

We’re a rock climbing family.

I encourage adventure.

I encourage bravery.

I encourage testing your mind, focus, and physical ability.

If my kid says “I want to climb”, and I feel it’s safe for him to do so. Then by all means he can.

Cade dumped all of our sandwiches into the water (which is why you can see the fish all frantically swimming around) he then sat for a solid 25 minutes trying to catch a fish in his hat.

Haha. He never succeeded but while I DON'T appreciate our lost lunch, I do appreciate his persistence. Lol

Great day. We’ll definitely go back to this spot!
