Camping game changer

As a lifelong camper, I have always enjoyed everything about living outside…except the sleep. I’ve tried every conceivable way to achieve a comfortable sleep, but ‘adequate’ is as good as I’ve been able to get. 5 years ago, I received a Ninox Flat-lay as a gift, and knew the second I got into it that the game had changed. I quickly worked to trick out my rig, and now have the entire ensemble needed for comfortable outdoor living. My standard set-up is the Ninox and rain fly, Puffle, and Stratos shelter (I know it’s not designed for the Ninox but I was able to easily retrofit it myself), and I will typically get about 10-14 nights/yr in it. It has been through torrential storms without a drop of water getting in, and the rain fly allows for air to move freely through the unit as well as maintaining views outside…something not found in the tent world. I love every second. There is definitely a learning curve, but once you get it figured out, it will be by far the best sleep you’ve had camping. At 50 years of age, getting up without being sore is something I can’t even get in my bed at home, but I spring out of the Ninox in the morning feeling refreshed from a deep sleep, and bounce around like a teenager with no soreness at all. I’m considering getting one for in the house as well.

Wow, best sleep ever

Between civilian camping and military bivouac I've been camping most of my life. In this time I've used a ton of different tents, sleeping mats, cots, and sleeping bags. Years ago I tried a surplus military jungle hammock but did not know how the set up or sleep in it, so it was a disaster. Over the past two years I started trying to use hammocks again after buying a cheap one of amazon. While looking at thing to improve that $40 hammock I stumbled onto the Sierra Madre site. After reading reviews and researching I settled on the Ninox. I recently took it into the Ozark mountains for a long weekend. I am impressed! I slept better than I do in my bed at home. This thing is great! The design and features are brilliant. Set-up is fast and easy, everything is where it should be and already attached. I was sad when I had to take it down and return home. I cant wait to use it more.

Wow

This company is just too amazing, not only did I receive the most amazing flat laying hammock that I’m finding a way to sleep in it every night, my back doesn’t hurt! But I also won a $100 gift card!! This company is the best gear company out there. Don’t think just buy it. You will not regret it. EVER.

Best Hammock Ever!!!!!

This hammock is a game changer. I had the Ninox Fly for a bit before I got the double-layer hammock. it is soft, strong, and huge. Took it to Silver Falls this last weekend and there was heavy rain. was no problem.

Best winter bag!

I bought the top quilt for my winter start of my AT thru hike, had it sent back from home when I reached Vermont. This sleeping bag did not disappoint!! It got down in the singles a few nights, and I was PLENTY warm, and very durable! The hood with the cinch cord to cover your face really comes in handy too. Worth every penny.

It did have a funny smell when it arrived but it aired out fairly quickly.

I truly love the Inferno system; especially how the top quilt basically fits around you. I have both the 30 and 0 degree set and have not been disappointed. Highly recommend this system!

Set it up at home first

I’m giving it 5 stars based on setting it up and giving it a good looking over because unfortunately I have not gotten to use it yet. That said, set up was easy but there are a few things I had to think about. I am very glad it didn’t wait to be out backpacking for the first time. It fits my ENO double nest well. I am excited about using it.

Hammock Vibes For Miles

First off... I'm a gear junkie that actually puts their gear to use... I don't leave reviews... THIS company deserves one! Been rocking this NUBE setup and dropping sexy hammock vibes for miles now! It's amazing the versatility of this set-up... not to mention the durability! You would think when you pull it out with the silky smooth as butter fabric/material which is also incredibly lightweight and compressible that durability might be an issue... THINK AGAIN! I have been using the SOLO hammock for some time now but just upgraded to the PARES w/ the TALON suspension. I'm officially a big boy hammock kid now!

Thank you so much for the time and effort to send us this review with a 5-star rating, Mason. It means the world to us. Thank you for supporting Sierra Madre! :)

Loving it still

I finally am going to write about my Nube. I’ve had it for a couple years now and am finally able to fine tune it. I usually leave the bottom a floor for my dog to sleep in. The everything in one and not having to carry a separate tarp. Set up is easy.. I keep finding more neat things about it!

Great quality and keeps me warm!

I really like the puffle. I’ve only used it at home so far and it has been keeping me warm in the chilly nights. I can def see this helping me as a sleeping bag in my upcoming camping trip to replace the sleeping bag I have. Will prob consider purchasing another one to make it a big blanket at home for the winter. Thanks!

Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear that the Puffle has been keeping you warm during chilly nights at home. We hope it will also serve you well on your upcoming camping trip. Don't forget to share your experience with us! Thank you for considering purchasing another one and we hope it will make a great big blanket for the winter. Stay warm!

Awesome Quilt

I’m writing this review as I’m snuggled into my 20 degree down Puffle quilt while fall hiking in the San Juan Mountains. I’ve used it on several backpacking trips now and I absolutely love it. It kept me warm in cold damp weather. It takes up much less space in my pack than my sleeping bag and cuts down on my pack weight! The first night I used it, I woke up with condensation in my tent that had dripped down onto my quilt overnight. I was worried it would soak the down, but it didn’t even penetrate the water resistant material! When the sun came out, it completely dried in a very short time. This will always be my go to quilt for backpacking! Bonus - when my husband hikes with me, he brings his Puffle and we connect them to make one big sleeping bag so we can cuddle. We love it!

Hi there!

Thank you so much Michelle for taking the time to leave such a great review for our Puffle 20°F | 5 in 1 Ultra Soft Camp Quilt. We are thrilled to hear that it has been keeping you warm and comfortable on your fall hiking trips in the San Juan Mountains. We designed this quilt specifically to be compact and lightweight, so we're glad to hear that it has been convenient for your backpacking adventures.

We're also happy to hear that the water-resistant material held up well against the condensation in your tent. It's always a relief when gear can withstand unexpected challenges like that. And how cute that you and your husband can connect your quilts for a cozy cuddle session! We love that you both enjoy our product.

Thank you again for your support and for sharing your experience with our Puffle quilt. Happy trails!

Why the heck did I wait to buy a Puffle??

So I've enjoyed many of your products for a few years (NINOX hammock/fly, Inferno underquilt, Del Sur coats, trekking poles) but why oh why did I wait so long to purchase a Puffle? It works so well to compliment an underquilt and is as warm or cool as you want it to be. A few snaps and I've got a snug footbed while the rest works so easily versus a bag. My warmer weather sleeping bags may be relegated to the "probably never use again" bin!
Context for the photo: I tie pink trail tape to the lines to avoid tripping on them in the dark.

Hi there! We are so happy to hear that you finally got your hands on a Puffle and are loving it! It's always a great feeling when our customers discover the true value of our products. Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope you continue to enjoy your Puffle for many adventures to come. Happy camping! :)

Love the DelSur

I started off with the pullover and liked it so much that I added the hoodie. These have been great on cold days (in the 20s) with a fleece underneath to warmer February days (40s) with a tshirt. I really like the venting on the pullover.

I should work for Sierra madre

I should work for sierra madre. Just spent my first night in my Puffle, Pufflo+, and my del sur jacket. At the time I shot this video it was 33F and dropping was toasty warm(no pants or socks) in my Puffle and super comfy on my pufflo +. I wore the del sur all day while hiking with just a lightweight base layer underneath. If I liked hammocks I would buy a SM hammock rig too. Every product has been great. My only dislike is the air valve on the pufflo. I wish it was a true one way inflation valve like other companies use. The rubber tongue valve isn’t super effective when trying to plug the hole after inflation, but once I finally got it closed I slept great!

Thank you so much for the time and effort to send us this review with a 5-star rating, Travis. It means the world to us. Thank you for supporting Sierra Madre! :)

Multipurpose Everyday Jacket

I've been wearing it as an outer layer - my new winter jacket (DelSur jacket, no coils). I received it January 2024 just before my vacation to southern FL; I live in TN. Perfect on the plane, love all the discreet pockets, and didn't get hot. Works well in the rain and dries quickly. Now, the following week, it's a lightweight outer layer for single-digit temps and several inches of snow. I really like the hood design with the drawstring and lip, and zipping up for face coverage.

As for fit, I'm a big girl: 5'10", 240#, big chest. I ordered the men's 3X. Nice fit. Comfortable over a tshirt but room for a tshirt and thick hoodie (my snow attire). Sleeves just a bit long but preferred over too short which is usually the case. And I like that the jacket covers my butt. The hidden gloves are a nice bonus (not used in photo).

Loving the jacket and looking forward to using my camping products from Sierra Madre. Quality products with excellent customer service, thank you.

Thank you so much for the time and effort to send us this review with a 5-star rating, Regina. It means the world to us. Thank you for supporting Sierra Madre! :)

Warm beyond its thickness. Fits nicely with room for a light layer or down sweater underneath. The inner elbow mesh tends to be a little cool on windy days, so I layer over with a windbreaker or under with a more wind proof layer. Great ROM. No pulling across chest or shoulders. Sleeves are lengthy (I have ape arms) and still cover the wrist when arm is fully extended. Thumb slashes well placed and the little finger windbreakers get used on dog walks a lot. Waist pockets are roomy and easily accessed. Chest pockets have more discreet zipper pulls to keep the lines of the jacket clean. I have to take off my gloves to access. But perfect for phone in the urban setting or a power bar and maps when trekking. I’ve been out in a moderate rain and remained warm and dry. The hood fits well over my large bonce and easily takes a heavy toque underneath. This is now a go to jacket when layering for Alberta -30C winters.
