I'm a huge fan of Sierra Madre products and have helped sponsor the creation of at least two products, maybe more. My biggest complaint is the time it takes between their dream and my delivery. Yet, once that wait is over, it's worth every bit - the DelSur is the latest proof of that reality.
A perfect mid-weight, perhaps even colder, top. I purchased the half zip and have worn it every day since it arrived. The first day I was shocked by how much warmer it was than I expected. The shell protected me from the cold February breeze yet I didn't overheat on the outing. I could certainly feel the breeze sneak its way when I lifted my arms, so celebratory hand raising was avoided. The second day I wore it out about town and didn't feel like I was underdressed. The third day I wore it about the house and laughed when questioned if it was cold inside. I finally threw it in the laundry pile yesterday after a tough outing in the kitchen. Its seen a lot in the first week and I'm happy in every environ.
I ordered a large and it seems a bit baggy in the body, perhaps even in the arms. I'm a solid large in almost everything and I almost feel like, for a middle layer, I'd need to wear a medium. I doubt I can wear a rain shell over it without looking like a crispy version of the stay-puff marshmallow man. My only dig in the slightest would have to be the fit.
I've explored the pockets, the enclosed gloves, and all the gadgets and remain impressed. I rest on my ongoing passion for Sierra Madre. I will look at every product they make and try and make and excuse on why I don't need it. You should do the same.
