So it rained on and off for 3 days, sometimes sideways, but with my nubs my sleeping bag and hammock stayed dry! Also since we were campground camping I attached my hiking tarp as a rain canopy.... great for chilling whilst everyone else is sleeping
Finaly got to test my Nubé.
Easy to rig with its complete system of mosquito net, tarp and gear stash. In combination with the Pares Hammock, Pufflo and a Puffle 55 as an underquilt it made me feel like sleeping sheltered and by all means pampered and still feeling the free air unlike any tent. :-)
I actually slept sideways comfortable, which also was a treat.
After MONTHS of research into hammock sleep systems, I settled on SMR because of their commitment to good business and causes, as well as their all-in-one and modular systems. The NUbe has lived up to ALL my expectations and more! I've had it out in the Rockies in CO and WY multiple times where it has weathered thunderstorms and wind and even snow. I've been comfy and cozy in it all night, and it's a breeze to set up and tear down.
I'm taking it on a 10 day backpacking trip in the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness in Northern CO at the end of July, and am looking forward to getting it fully filed tested!
I got the nube and pares hammock with the gear stash over the winter and since Covid-19, haven't been able to test it because all parks were closed.
Took it out this week for the first time, and I can't say enough good things about it. I wish i had tested setting it up a few times before going backcountry and arriving at our site near dusk, as there is a learning curve. Didn't set the nube shelter high enough the first night and it sagged on the ground. Left less head room, but even still, the best night sleep I've had camping in my life (35+ years camping). The hammock is soo large, and soft, and so freaking comfortable. First time I've felt comfortable lying sideways in an hammock tent. Could easily fit two people. My 6'1" friend was fully enveloped with lots of room to spare.
The materials seems sturdy, strong, and well made and easily held almost 400 lbs with the both of us.
The netting and shelter don't feel confining. Lots of space to store. Love the gear stash. Stayed completely dry, all the pieces of this are so well thought out.
Super lightweight compared to my old tent, and even some other hammock tents I've tried. Takes up little space in the pack. Don't need flat ground or a mattress.
I will be purchasing the winter add-ons for this next winter season and other gear here in the future for sure!
Well worth it!
