To try out the system, I took the Stratos System (fly and bug net) and XPlor out to the inter coastal waterway along the southern NC shores for a week. There were of bugs in the area and a decent amount of rain throughout the week. The fly worked beautifully. Despite having three days of constant rain, the fly never leaked into the hammock area. There was no rain coming in from the ends despite lots of wind. The big net worked very well. I did see bugs seeking shelter under the fly but not inside the net itself. I found the XPlor very cozy. Personally, I like a larger hammock for sleeping, but this one was smaller and very compact. Perfect for laying out reading while listening to the rain. I’d recommend this hammock for day use. I’m *quite* broad shouldered, so without a sleeping pad, it may of been a bit too tight for my shoulders. However that could also be mitigated with a ridge line. Overall, I love the setup and am excited to get my Pares to use with the Stratos system. The modularity of three Stratos is what drew me to it. I’m going to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in mid July. A couple nights I will be above the tree line. So having the tent floor option for the Stratos was a huge plus for me. I also plan to take the Stratos tent setup to Joshua Tree in November. I’m glad that one system has so much versatility.
